LAG Responsibilities

The LAG is responsible for assessing applications which come forward for funding.  Funding is available for local projects, cooperation projects with other areas and for rural enterprise projects.

The LAG meets up to four times annually to assess project applications and make funding decisions, these times are published in advance on the timelines page.

LAG members are available to support and guide projects to help them in achieving their goals and ensure long term success.  Should you wish to contact an individual LAG member for specialist support please speak with the LEADER Coordinator who will be able to provide contact details.

LAG members are responsible for monitoring programme budgets and the success of programme outcomes.

Programme outputs are monitored in line with the Local Development Strategy and reported to Scottish Government annually.

The Local Action Group is also responsible for promotion of the LEADER programme and for developing community interest in LEADER funding opportunities.
