Application process

There is a three-step application process which starts with an Expression of Interest Form which is available from the Scottish Rural Network.

Step 1 – Expression of Interest

  • An Expression of Interest Form providing a brief outline of your project proposal should be submitted to the Scottish Rural Network.

  • The LEADER Facilitator will contact you to arrange a meeting and discuss your project proposal in more detail.

Step 2 – Outline

  • A LEADER Project Outline (short report) will be submitted to the Local Action Group for consideration on eligibility and fit with the Local Development Strategy.

If the Project Outline is approved in principle you will be invited to develop a project plan and submit a full application.

Step 3 – Full application

  • A full application should be submitted incorporating a project plan and / or a business plan. Supporting documentation should be provided along with the application form for assessment and scoring by the LAG.

  • The LEADER team will be available to support applicants to ensure all the relevant information is provided.

  • A pre-assessment meeting will be arranged with the European Programme Support Officer to discuss the proposed activities and project costs in detail.

  • Applications are subject to closing dates which are published on the Timelines page.
